GERTRUDE GILET sewing pattern and KIT
GERTRUDE GILET sewing pattern and KIT
Gertrude Gilet sewing pattern by Sewgirl to make a snug little essential item for any wardrobe. The perfect body warmer, wear over tees or sweats and layer under jackets for extra cosiness, it's the perfect garment for in-between seasons when you aren't too sure whether to wrap up or keep cool.
Size range is Small (UK 8-10), Medium (UK 12-14), Large (UK 16-18), X-Large (20-22) and 2X-L (24-26). Please see size info chart for details.
Skill level: Easy. This gilet is suitable to be made up in cuddly knitted Boucle fabrics, Teddy Sherpa fleece or Curly sheep fabrics, alternatively woven fabrics are also suitable with or without a lining. If using a woven fabric aim for a slightly heavier weight and a double sided fabric is preferable. Binding with woven fabrics -I recommend using bought binding, with stretch fabrics its best to use self-made binding cut across the horizontal width of the fabric. All instructions are included in the pattern.
The Gertrude pattern includes a large format template with an illustrated instruction booklet, enclosed inside a printed envelope. There is also a blog showing extra tips and photos of how to make the garment and a Sewing Street TV demo after the 8th Nov show. Go to www.sewgirl.co.uk/gertrude-gilet.
The KIT contains a Gilet pattern, Boucle fabric* in Navy, four wooden buttons (as pictured), a reel of thread and a Sewgirl label. Please note the boucle version is not lined as the fabric is double sided.
Please note that all instructions are in English only with metric and imperial measurements.
* fabric is 100% polyester.
