This is a fabulous kit by Sewgirl to make a gorgeous pair of relaxed style dungarees in either denim or ramie linen fabric. These are simple to make, loose fitting, pull on dungarees with straps, button fastening and lots of pockets to store all your stuff, in sizes 8-22.
This project would be great for an adventurous beginner. The techniques include laying and cutting out the pattern, making straps, buttonholes, topstitching, patch pockets and attaching a facing, so nothing too tricky. If making a button hole puts you off, you could always just stitch the strap and button together or add a dungaree clasp instead.
As well as the pattern instructions and templates, the kit includes enough fabric of your choice to make any size up to 22, as well as a piece of interfacing, and a Sewgirl label. Fabric choices include denim (dark indigo) or a choice of colours in 70% ramie linen/30% cotton, all packed up in a kraft recycled bag.
Please see the last photo for fabric requirement information, there is also a guide showing the size measurements and finished garment dimensions.
The dungarees are a roomy, relaxed style, there is a 1.5cm (5/8") seam allowance included in the pattern, so theres lots of room for adjustment if needed.
The sewing pattern comes with an illustrated step by step instruction booklet and two large format actual size pattern sheets, printed on 75gsm sturdy paper, so you could weigh your pattern down instead of pinning it, if you prefer.
There is also a photo step by step blogpost, showing you clearly each step of the making process, so you can check it out before you buy. Visit www.sewgirlblog.com and click on the DORIS DUNGAREES page.
The blog also shows you pictures of the dungarees made in other types of fabric and hack ideas are added occasionally to update the pattern over time.
Please note that this pattern is written in English only with metric and imperial measurements.
