This listing is for a PDF digital download pattern for a Brompton Bag by Sewgirl. The files are automatically emailed to you following purchase, so you can get on with your project immediately or avoid postage costs. If you would prefer this pattern as a posted hard copy, please see the separate listing.
The step by step instructions can be either saved and viewed on your device. The templates can be easily printed off at home on to A4 sheets of paper*. Full instructions about pattern assembly are included in the pattern, in a nutshell the printed sections are trimmed down and stuck together to make the full scale templates.
Brompton Bag pattern by Sewgirl is an easy to make project for either a Shoulder Messenger type bag or a Back Pack. Instructions to make both are included in the pattern.
The bag features a flap and leather buckle magnetic fastener but you could easily replace the buckle with a push lock fastener or just a magnetic clasp if you prefer.
Inside the bag there is a patch pocket.
The Back pack version here has been made with a black denim and a bold African cotton print lining fabric and the shoulder bag version has been made with a British wool tweed check with a spotty cotton lining. The finished bag measures approx. 30cm x 30cm (11 ¾” x 11 ¾”) and the strap maximum length measures approx. 130cm–140cm (51”–59”).The Back pack version requires two 30mm (1 1/4") metal rings and sliders and just one slider and two rings for the shoulder bag version. Please see the last picture for fabric requirements.
Instructions are in English only with metric and imperial measurements.
* Please note that there is a test square on the first template page. Ensuring your printer settings are at 100% I advise to test that the square corresponds with the measurement stated. I also recommend installing Adobe Reader software (free to download from the internet) if you don't have it already.
