BRIGHTON HAT PDF digital download sewing pattern
This is a pdf digital download to make a fabulously stylish Brighton bucket style hat, perfect to wear in all seasons. An easy to make straightforward pattern in three head sizes:
Small (55cm), Medium (57cm) and Large (59cm) circumference. Please see diagram for how to measure your head for size.
The hat has a choice of two brim styles: small brim, as shown in the blue fabric, and large brim (which can be folded back) as shown in the orange/pink fabric.
Suitable fabrics to make a Brighton hat would be medium weight cotton, cotton canvas, denim in spring/summer or tweeds, woven checks, brushed cotton or needlecord in autumn/winter.
The pattern requires an outer fabric and lining fabric such as cotton, poplin or satin. You also need 1 metre approx of medium weight fusible interfacing and a reel of thread.

The download consists of two files: instructions (8 pages which can be viewed on your device or printed off) and pattern templates (13 black and white A4 pages which can be printed and stuck together following the instructions in the introduction).
N.B. When printing off the templates it is important to ensure that printing is in black and white and at scale actual size i.e. 100%. If in doubt, please check the test square on the first page which should measure 5cm x 5cm.
