This is a sewing pattern to make a charming linen drawstring bag- a perfect holdall for cosmetics or crafty bits and bobs.
Using an eclectic mix of patterned fabrics for the patchwork base, the bag features a central applique floral design motif adding a touch of retro style and drawstring ties at each side. An optional trim such as Ric Rac can also be stitched across the seam line.
The finished bag measures approximately: 22cm x 32cm (8 3⁄4” x 12 1⁄2”).
The pattern includes all the full size templates printed on sturdy paper with an illustrated/photographed instruction booklet. LEVEL: beginners.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
OUTER FABRIC such as linen, cotton or denim- 50cm x 112cm (1/2yd x 45”).
LINING FABRIC such as printed or plain cotton- 50cm x 112cm (1/2yd x 45”).
COTTON PATTERNED FABRIC 12cm x 12cm (5” x 5”) of six different printed cotton fabrics.
BONDING WEB- 20cm x 75cm (8” x 30”).
FELT- small pieces in pink, crimson red, khaki and burnt orange or colours to match the patchwork fabrics
One BUTTON (10mm), 50cm of RIC RAC trimming (8mm wide) and 1.5m of RIBBON (optional) (10mm wide), a skein of hand embroidery thread (optional).
