Yet another lovely sewing pattern by Sewgirl! This one is a classic pinafore apron style, loose fitting, slightly A-line dress called Mildred. Easy to make, suitable for beginners to dressmaking with some previous sewing experience.
Please note that Mildred is also available as a KIT (select on the drop down button) on this listing. KIT includes the pattern, dark denim fabric, interfacing, thread, a Sewgirl hand printed label and two wooden buttons packed in a brown kraft carrier with handles.

The Mildred pattern is very simple to follow with large format, illustrated instructions and sturdy paper templates. Instructions are in English only with metric measurements.
With a choice of long or short lengths and in sizes 8-22 (please see chart for size details), this stylish, yet practical dress is great to wear everyday with a teeshirt or jumper underneath. With an A-line shape, two adjustable buttoned straps, one large front 'kangaroo' style pocket and two small back pockets so there's plenty of room for all your bits n bobs. Alternatively, make Mildred with adjustable flap dungaree clasps and buttons (see last picture) - these are available as add ons to your pattern order. Just select the 'pattern + 2 clasps' option from the drop down button instead of 'pattern only'.
Mildred is suitable to make in all sorts of fabrics such as soft medium weight (8oz) denim, medium weight linen and linen mixes and corduroy. Please note that if using denim, linen, needlecord or more structured fabrics, interfacing is not needed on the pockets.
Mildred Pinafore requires approx 2.1m of fabric (wide width), 50cm of fusible interfacing and a couple of buttons or dungaree clasps (please see last picture for full details about fabric requirements).
